FURECO'S COMMITMENT

Sustainability

The brand’s concept concerns both work ethic and product sustainability.

As for the first sphere, the Gavazzi family rescued the local workers from the crisis that affected the industry at the end of the 1990s, which threatened both the survival of their small businesses and the artisan culture that is an essential part of Made in Italy’s heritage.

This operation coincided with business and brand growth, which led the family to build a network of specialized workshops, thus expanding through outsourcing.

On the other hand, sustainability is a more delicate issue, that includes the debate on the use of real versus faux fur.

As recently stated by the International Fur Federation, the so-called “eco-fur” is actually much more harmful to the environment than natural fur, as it is produced using chemicals that are responsible for the alarming marine pollution affecting our planet.

Therefore, being sustainable means being more informed and aware of what is worse for the environment, certifying pelt traceability and promoting animal welfare.

FURS

Fureco was one of the first companies to adopt the
Furmark® fur skins certification.

As such, we make sure to select fur skins from countries where animal welfare regulations and environmental standards are in force.
Over the past few years, we have also been participating in a project regarding pelt traceability, that we use throughout the production to guarantee the highest quality to our customers.

Fureco takes part in the most important international fur auctions: Saga Furs, Kopenhagen FUR, Sojuzpushina e NAFA from which we select all of our raw materials.

The highest-quality fur skins are carefully selected to create our final product; the finest mink, sable, fox and chinchilla furs, used for the manufacture of our collections, are personally selected by our company.

The tanning and dyeing processes are also entirely carried out in Italy following specific rules against the use of harmful chemical substances.

Finally, all the fur skins are cut and assembled in Italy by our artisans and sewing professionals, who handcraft our garments with meticulous craftsmanship.

Thanks to the possibility to monitor all the production from the raw material to the final product, Fureco is able to deliver high-quality and one-of-a-kind garments.
